Nerd levels are high.
I’ve checked my backpack 4 times already. I ironed my lab coat, which is just going to go in my backpack anyway. I’ve checked my email every half hour to make sure my professor hasn’t emailed any last-minute things that I need to know before class tomorrow.
I always get so nervous before the first day of the semester. Even though I know half of my class from last semester, I’m still nervous to meet the other half. Will they like me? Will they treat me as an equal? The people who were in my class last year definitely treated me well, but I noticed at orientation that all of the people I don’t know are middle aged adults, making me the youngest by 4 years …again. I just hope they take me as seriously as the other adults. I go to school to learn, not to play games and goof off. Although most of the people my age party, I put studies first 100% of the time and I hope they don’t judge me prematurely just because of my age.
