Went to a Zumba Toning class tonight for the first time.
My whole body feels like jelly. Totally buying toning sticks next time I go to a toning class. Unfortunately her class is on Mondays, so I won’t be able to go for the next few, but this summer I am going to look so good.
She played “Drive By” in class!
Yay! I’m a happy camper.
I think I was a bit more jumpy than normal, because, damn, my legs hurt.
I just had the most intense Zumba class. My instructor didn’t realize her friend who is training to be an instructor was going to be there tonight. She let’s her do one of her songs when she’s there at an ‘intense’ level. Well, since Ronnie didn’t know she was going to be there, she had already had more than enough intense songs as a “pre-Passover dinner prep” (as she called it) so then one more was added to the already surplus of dancing. We only took a break once, and now my whole body feels amazingly tired.
Seriously. This is bad. After an hour of Zumba tonight, I stopped and got an Italian Shorti and hummus with pita bread.
Best part? I wasn’t even hungry, I just knew it’d be delicious.
Oh well, guess I burned all the calories I ate in advance for that deliciousness.
By 11am I was already feeling less energized. I hope this doesn’t carry into tomorrow.
In an effort to get my energy up I asked my brother to go for a run with me. My first run since middle school. Well, for those of you who don’t know, my brother is a college-level swimmer/diver. He works out every single day, multiple times a day. I don’t know what I was thinking. I said “around the block” with translates into “around the neighborhood” to him, apparently.
He stayed with me the whole time, which was nice of him, since he didn’t even break a sweat while I gasped for breath every 500 feet.
It it truly a miracle that I made it back to the house.
My abs feel so good, though. My friend is peer pressuring me to go again tomorrow, so we’ll see if that happens. Not sure my butt and thighs can take it, but I’m just so addicted.
Hopefully the neighbors don’t start watching from their decks, ahah.
I did some number crunching, and going to most walk-in classes around here or signing up for a 6week session result in the price per class being between $3-$6. So if I did 2 classes a week I’d end up at $6-$12 a week for a total of 2 hours of working out. I figured that buying the game at Best Buy for $40 now and doing it 2-3 times a week for an hour or more would result in not only a better physical/mental status, but a better result for my wallet.
Luckily I have just as much fun doing it on my own as I do in a class setting. Plus, I can always hop in on a class when I have a few extra bucks on my dresser.
